Will Poor Weather Affect Aerial Photography / VideographY Services?

Yes, poor weather can affect our ability to perform photography and videography services. The small unmanned aircraft systems that we use can only be operated in good weather conditions. Please see our Adverse Weather policy for more details. The following conditions may prevent us from operating:

  • Rain, hail, snow, ice, fog
  • Extremely hot or extremely cold temperatures
  • High winds (above 20 mph)

Will Poor Weather Affect Other Photography / Videography services?

It depends. We always strive to perform our services with the utmost determination and diligence. However, poor weather conditions can prevent us from performing our photography and videography services. For ground-based services, we will make every attempt to perform. Because each type of service and project is different, we will communicate the specific types of extreme weather that could disrupt operations to you in advance.

ARE YOU CERTIFIED WITH THE FAA?

Yes, all unmanned aircraft pilots with Neoteric Video have a Remote Pilot Certificate (SUAS Rating) with the Federal Aviation Administration. Proof of certificate can be provided upon request.

Are you licensed/Permitted for Remote Pilot Operations in Virginia, Tennessee and North Carolina?

All unmanned aircraft pilots with Neoteric Video have a North Carolina Department of Transportation (Division of Aviation) UAS Operators Permit. Proof of permit can be provided upon request. Current law for Virginia and Tennessee do not require additional permitting beyond having a remote pilot certificate from the FAA.

What Restrictions Do You Have For Aerial Photography / Videography Services?

In the United States, airspace is governed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The FAA places certain restrictions on small unmanned aircraft operations. If your project requires us to perform outside of the following parameters, special waivers will be needed from the FAA. These waivers require long lead times (up to 120 days) and the FAA reserves the sole right to approve or deny the waiver.

Waivers will need to be obtained if your project requires:

  • Operation higher than 400 feet above ground level (AGL) or 400 feet above or around structures
  • Operation from a moving vehicle or aircraft if it is not in a sparsely populated area
  • Operation at night (twilight times are allowed without a waiver, 30 minutes before sunrise and 30 minutes after sunset)
  • Operation of the small unmanned aircraft out of the visual line-of-sight of the pilot
  • Operation within restricted airspace, such as airports / operation within a temporary restricted airspace, such as forest fire areas
  • Operation over crowds / people

Note: We do not perform any aerial delivery services.

Do You Offer / Require Contracts Before Performing Services?

Yes, we require contracts between you the client and Neoteric Video. This helps you have the confidence you need to hire us and it helps us have the opportunity to fully explain our policies. Furthermore, because of the highly technical nature of our services, unexpected problems can arise. We believe that it is important for everyone involved to have proper expectations before work begins.

What Will the Contract Cover?

Our standard contract will outline the exact services that you will be receiving. Additionally, it will provide a framework for all of the interactions that you have with us. Changes may be considered if you have a specific concern or need. The following issues are addressed in our standard contract:

  • Dates and times of service performance
  • Description of services performed
  • Deliverable content format and timeline (photos / videos)
  • Cancellation / weather policy
  • Copyright ownership of photos and video
  • Confidentiality
  • Force majeure and Arbitration

Do you carry insurance for your aerial photography / videography work?

Yes! We carry liability insurance for our aerial operations. Our standard policy is for $1,000,000 (one million USD) and is underwritten by Global Aerospace, INC. of Parsippany, NJ. If you have a project that requires additional coverage, please contact us to discuss options. Please note, our liability insurance does not cover all locations such as large stadiums and controlled airspace. If you have a project that requires us to fly in such an area, additional lead time will be required.
